(OLD CHATHAM, NY) May 6, 2020 – Shaker Museum | Mount Lebanon invites the public to participate in a community engagement project, “Call for Art: In Union, Remotely,” with artwork in a variety of mediums which must be submitted digitally. All submissions should draw inspiration from the Shakers’ values or way of life, which the participants can learn more about in the Shaker Museum’s comprehensive online collection. Curatorial Associate
Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
