Brother William Perkins joined the Mount Lebanon Shakers sometime around 1890. He lived at the North Family until about 1915, when he moved to the Second Family and, with Sister Lillian Barlow, ran the chair factory there. He was a talented woodworker and carver, and produced many objects for sale including side chairs, revolver or swivel chairs, carved stools, and oval boxes and sewing carriers.
