Description

Wooden tool chest painted red. The chest is finger jointed with a hinged lid. The lid has rounded edges which extend over the chest on three of four sides. On either side there are metal pull handles. The front of the chest has a metal diamond-shaped escutcheon, with a central key-hole. The handles, escutcheon, and hinges are painted black. Inside the chest, on the right side, there are two drawers with a hinged box on top. Along the left and back side there are wooden tool holders.

Shane Rothe

Curatorial Associate

Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
