Description

Tin-plated sheet metal pitcher (a) with lid (b). Tall pot is made of two panels and bottom, and has crimped and soldered joints, a wire-rolled rim plus a surface soldered reinforced strap handle and spout. Pot wall inside spout is perforated. Two sheet metal ears are surface soldered to the sides at the top to which a wire bail is pivoted. Lid is flat with integral hinged spout cover. Lid has crimped and soldered flange on underside and a surface soldered strap handle on top.

Shane Rothe

Curatorial Associate

Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
