Description

Oval-shaped woven poplar tray. Edges are lined with white kid leather (skiver). The bottom edge is undulating and top edge is scalloped. One light-green silk decorative bow is on long side; there is another matching bow on the opposing side which connects the two separated halves of that side. Inside base is lined with dark green satin; inside sides lined with olive green satin. Outside base is embossed light blue paper with a hand-painted white and gray design.

Shane Rothe

Curatorial Associate

Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
