Description

Wooden shoulder stick with an edge iron on one side. The end is cut down on two sides, one taller than the other, leaving a protruding piece of wood running the height of the edge iron 1 1/8". From this end the shoulder stick tapers and the sides round off about two-thirds the length before growing exponentially to create a foot-like shape. The top and bottom are concavely curved meeting at a rounded edge.

Shane Rothe

Curatorial Associate

Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
