Description

Shoemaker's tool, possibly a plane. The tool consists of a wooden body. The wood is rectangular from the base to about half way, where it is shaved round and smooth for a hand grip and returns to its rectangular shape. The top of the tool is stepped. Pieces of brass are screwed onto the wood and curve over the steps. On the lower step there is a blade which makes the upper step act as a fence.
