Fence post support, Mount Lebanon, NY

Object ID:
1961.13157.1
Community:
New York, Mount Lebanon
Description

Fence post support. Pair of wrought iron straps, about 17" long, with three spikes protruding from each, attached to marble base.

Notes

The piece was a support for fence posts; the iron spikes would have been driven into the post, which would have rested on the marble base. Accession information indicates that it was salvaged from an old cemetery on Cherry Lane at Mount Lebanon between the Center and Second Family properties.
