The Shaker Museum|Mount Lebanon holds one of the truly extraordinary collections of Shaker household and workshop furnishings.

Nearly every type of furniture is represented in its more than five hundred piece collection. While the furniture collection has be acquired over the past sixty years by gift and purchase from a variety of source, much of it, especially in the early days of the Museum, was acquired directly from the Shakers.

As a result, a number of pieces retain their original, now beautifully aged surfaces. Much of the Museum’s furniture collection represents pieces made and used at the Shaker community at Mount Lebanon, New York. However, other Shaker communities are well represented.
