Scope and content

Inventories of donations: to New York City, 1803; “Wounded Soldiers,” circa 1861-1862?; and Belgian relief, 1915. The donation to New York was made by the Shakers of Mount Lebanon and Hancock "for the Relief of the poor of that city," and includes goods such as 853 pounds of pork, 1951 lbs of beef, 179 bushels of potatoes, 34 bushels of carrots, and 2 bushels of beets. The goods sent to wounded soldiers includes clothing and "sundry small articles which will no doubt be useful." Though it is not dated, it likely dates to the Civil War.
